Public Relations
Within the company is a resource that serves as a key asset to achieving long-lasting success. That vital resource is the company's employees. The people that serve as the foundation for implementing business strategies also serve as allies - or enemies - for the company; and mobilizing these internal constituencies in a positive direction can make all the difference in the growth and success of our clients.

No matter the issue - new leadership, cultural transitions, organizational restructurings, recruitment, downsizing, and so on - our professionals at Publicis Consultants | guide clients through creating, implementing and evaluating programs that maintain and strengthen employee relations. We help ensure that relationships between employees and management stay positive and lead to realizing organizational objectives.

Client: Philips
Agency: Publicis Consultants | Van Sluis (Amsterdam)

+ Issue
Philips was facing less growth than it had hoped for and the problem was due, in large part, to its internal communications. The company needed to leverage value from existing resources - in particular, its employees.

+ Strategic Idea
Philips teamed up with Publicis Consultants | Van Sluis in the Netherlands to engage the company's talented employee base to create synergy and, ultimately, accelerate growth. The campaign team proposed an online communications platform, delivered via the company intranet, from which Philips personnel could communicate on a global scale.

+ Implementation
Publicis Consultants | Van Sluis created the Philips Dialogue, an online discussion tool that cuts through the barriers of distance and time zone to enable thousands of employees to communicate with each other, share working practices and exchange ideas. It encourages working across divisions, another goal identified by Philips, and overcomes internal boundaries to generate new commercial opportunities. The agency also produced Philips Network News, a weekly video news program broadcast direct to employees via desktop web casts. The news programs contain inspiring but challenging case studies and engaging ideas to encourage entrepreneurship amongst the Philips team and ultimately accelerate growth.

+ Results
Over 2000 comments and ideas were shared during the first two Philips Dialogues, and many participants offered to communicate further 'offline' to pursue joint projects. The Philips Network News programs are now in production and being tested amongst focus groups prior to launch.
